Concept: A magnificent android hardwired for lightning speed galaxy telecommunications.
Artist's Comment: This shoot was in my head for almost a year before I began working on the costume and set. I tend to work with one definate image in mind and a strong gut feeling that it's a winner with a good concept, then I work towards achieving that. This was the most difficult of all my costumes to create to date - very tedious especially the helmet.
The letters CQ stand for Cyberqueen and the numbers 541 are simply the model number for the 'Techno Chic' android.
I was inspired by Bjork's filmclip "All is Full of Love" - it struck a chord with me - tears ran down my face at the beauty of two robots kissing amongst all that white and all that machinery - a masterpiece!
I wanted to create a beautiful, powerful white android captured in a luminous crystal palace able to communicate faster than the speed of light with anyone anywhere in the galaxy while remaining completely solitary.
The mathematical numbers and symbols on the background set represent information surrounding us everywhere everyday especially in a super paced world of telecommunications.
I enjoy self portaits very much because I can take my time and really immerse myself in the character, play in front of the camera so to speak, as well as having total creative control, which I believe, gives me a final powerful creative image. There's no compromise on creativity - I can deliver what's inside my mind and spirit - and that's immensely important for me.

Lighting: Paul Henderson-Kelly
Location: Inner City Photographic Studio, Sydney Australia
Post Production: Paul Henderson-Kelly /Onix Black
Concept: An android gamer caught on a grid in gaming cyberspace racing in a virtual world of speed, light and sound.
Artist's Comment: This was my first shoot collaborating with another photographer, Paul Henderson-Kelly. He was excellent to work with, fun yet totally professional. He came up with some brilliant ideas and guided me in those 6 inch heels.
The clear perspex mohawk and visor were very important costume elements in this shoot. I wanted a clean slick fast modern cyberpunk feel to the outfit with a hint of surreal blade runner. The black lines on the body and head are made from thick elastic over a white lycra catsuit. The black lines across the eyes and up on the forehead are make-up designed to line up with the costume.
The set was created by ripping apart loads of different stereo speaker boxes and pulling out the actual speakers, painting them white and erecting them on columns like a jungle of white sound. I wanted this shoot to be strong, simple, sexy, fast and androgynous.
